Getting Started

We don’t expect a lot of tail-wagging to start.

This isn’t something that’s easy to think about or get started on. But, the sooner you get started, the more comfortable you’ll feel about the future of your dog. Instead of thinking that you’ll be leaving him or her behind, you’ll know that you’ll be leaving him or her with a great, loving family in a place perfectly suited for dogs.

We encourage you to:

  • Set up an appointment to visit us at Dawn Jones’ home (aka: Meet with both Dawn and Megan; ask as many questions as you’d like; and take a tour of our wide open, nature rich property. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your dog. We’d love to meet him or her.
  • Discuss with us the paperwork you’ll need so that the transition is an easy one. We’ll even help you find it and fill it out if that’s what you need.
  • Contact your attorney to help you set up and fund a pet trust (see Contacts and Resources for more information on pet trusts and local attorneys).
  • Finally, you’ll need to make sure your family and friends know that you’ve made these plans for your dog.

Making sure all these steps are taken care of will ensure a speedy and easy transition into our homes.
